Illinois Sales Tax Rate Changes for Certain Municipalities Effective January 1, 2024

Please update your cash registers and computer systems to account for the change. Make sure your sales staff knows to adjust their quotes for the change in rates if materials are going to be purchased or delivered after January 1, 2024.

Nearby municipalities that have increased their rates are Elmhurst - Cook County (+0.50%), Elmhurst - DuPage County (+0.50%), Rolling Meadows (+0.25%), Bloomingdale (-1.00%), Elmwood Park (North Harlem Avenue and Grand Avenue Business Districts only) (Both +1.00%), West Chicago (+0.50%), Orland Park – Cook County (+0.50%), Orland Park – Will County (+0.50%), and Palos Heights (Business Districts No. 2) (+1.00%).

Other municipalities in Cook, Madison, Bond, McHenry, Mason, Williamson, St. Clair, Whiteside, Tazewell, Warren, and Sangamon counties have also changed their rates.
