History of Porte Brown Tinley Park

On December 1, 2011 Porte Brown acquired the firm of Meador Stratton, LLP, based in Highland, Indiana. It was the third acquisition within the year and the first in the state of Indiana. At the time Bruce Jones, the managing partner, was quoted as saying, "We are pleased and excited to join forces with a firm such as Meador Stratton. They are a natural fit with our firm's philosophy and exactly the type of firm we have been looking to acquire as we continue to grow and expand our practice."

It was a natural evolution of the two firms' relationship, especially after having worked together for nearly twenty years prior to the acquisition. Partners of Meador Stratton, Ralph Meador, CPA, and Louis Stratton, CPA, CITP, MBA, as well as the other Meador Stratton employees were a natural fit with Porte Brown due to their commitment to exceptional customer service. In a press release Meador stated, "Our company is extremely proud to join forces with Porte Brown. It provides our clients with a wealth of additional resources to focus in on their needs with precision and provide effective and efficient business solutions."

It would not be until July of 2012 when the Meador Stratton office moved to its current location in a new office space located in Tinley Park, Illinois. The new location would allow Porte Brown to continue supporting its clients in Indiana and also serve its existing and potential clients located in and around the southern suburbs of Chicago.

One of the reasons for Porte Brown's impressive growth can be attributed to creating defined processes for all aspects of its business. "We are frequently called in to consult with other accounting firms. They want to learn about our business processes in the hopes of making their firms more efficient and more profitable," said Jones. "It is flattering that other accounting firms are starting to recognize us as the process leader."

Community Growth

Employee development and community involvement are two hallmarks of Porte Brown's Tinley Park office. A great way for new employees to connect with prospective clients is to become involved within the community by joining associations and chambers like the Oak Park Avenue Mainstreet Association and the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce.

Partner in Charge of the Tinley Park office, Michael Massaro, is a firm believer in getting out and building these relationships, not just for the benefit of Porte Brown but for the community as a whole. "I very much enjoy mentoring our new staff members, and helping them achieve their goals at Porte Brown," said Michael.
